3 Reasons to Choose an Online Dog Trainer for your Dog's Separation Anxiety

When I tell people I'm a dog trainer, they usually assume this means I spend a lot of time around dogs. What you might not expect, is that I actually do all of my work from a laptop (being supervised by my own Golden Retriever Sully of course).

It can be difficult to get your head around initially, but there is absolutely no need for a trainer to visit your dog in person to help with their Separation Anxiety. In fact, a trainer completing an assessment or training session in-person will only complicate things.

When it comes to Separation Anxiety, remote or online dog training is a must.

Qualified Separation Anxiety specialists like myself will only ever work with guardians online. We understand that this is the most effective way to help you and your dog. So whether we live in the same town, or you're half way across the globe we'll work together in the exact same way.

There are a number of benefits to working with an online trainer on your dog's Separation Anxiety:

1️⃣ You have access to specialist knowledge.

When you chose an online dog trainer, your location is no longer a limiting factor for the help you can receive. Separation Anxiety is an extremely specialised area of dog training and behaviour, meaning that your local trainer may not have the same level of knowledge, skills and experience that a specialist does. Online training gives you access to qualified specialists who are experts in their field, giving you and your dog the best chances of success.

2️⃣ You'll receive a higher level of support.

I speak to my Separation Anxiety clients every single day. Not once a month. Not once a week. Not for a one-off consult. My favourite part of the day is reviewing video footage of my clients' daily training sessions. By working online, I can observe your dog alone in real time without influencing their behaviour with my presence. By sharing video recordings of your training sessions with me, I can provide in depth feedback on your dog's body language and subtle behaviours, which are key to success.

3️⃣ It's flexible and convenient.

Life can be pretty hectic at times, so working with a trainer online can be super convenient. My online training programmes work through exchange a simple exchange of video footage:

📋 I set the plan

📷 You train at a time that suits you, and record the session

💻 I review your footage

🐶 Based on my observations, I'll set you a new plan for the next day

It is that simple.
